Ibrahima Gningue is a visual artist, born in 1982 in Dakar. He graduated from the National School of the Arts in Dakar in 2005 ( with a major in "Plasticien d'expression").

Of Lebou origin, his work is nourished by its culture and ethnicity. The sublime costumes and accessories are the central pieces of his colorful works, inspired by the dancers of Goumbé and Ndawrasquine.

The faces of his characters are painted white because they pass in the background and recall the alabaster faces. These are characters of the "tadjébone"  a  Senegalese festival.

Ibrahima has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects in Africa and Europe, including the biennial Dak ’art en off.
