A professional photographer and videographer for over ten years, Nasrine Safa divides her time between Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, France and the United States. Her career, shaped by contrasting landscapes and diverse fields—including fashion, architecture, culture and business—reveals a profoundly human, sensitive and curious perspective on the world.

Background & Identity: Africa as a foundation

Born and raised in Senegal, Nasrine grew up in an environment where diversity, simplicity and authenticity were a given.
« “Growing up in Senegal shaped my perspective, my sensitivity and my relationship with others.”

Adolescence marked a turning point: photography was no longer just a passion, but an obvious calling.

Later, her move to La Ciotat opened a new chapter. The change of location became a driving force for growth: regular training, national competitions—including the Objectif de Bronze won in 2023—and a heightened awareness of the importance of her craft.

My life in France has given me a fresh perspective on my craft, both technically and artistically.”

Profession & Development: exploring without limiting oneself

For over ten years, Nasrine has been active in the fields of fashion, architecture, culture and business. One constant: the desire to learn and to renew her perspective.

I don’t limit myself to one style. I love exploring new horizons. It stimulates me.”

What attracts her to diversity? Human richness.
For her, the camera is a true passport allowing her to enter multiple worlds and meet people with unique life stories.

She organises her time around the rhythm of her projects, without compartmentalising: corporate commissions, artistic photography and personal projects coexist naturally.

Vision & Aesthetics: revealing authenticity

Although her signature style is now widely recognised, Nasrine does not seek to impose a fixed style. Her approach is based above all on immersion and connection.

Whatever the subject, I first seek to immerse myself in their world to reveal a form of authenticity, beauty and uniqueness.”

Light, lines, textures, bodies, architecture… anything can move her.
« It’s also a question of energy.”

Her approach naturally varies between reportage, studio and architecture: each context requires a different technique and a different relationship, especially when it comes to photographing people.

Photography & Video: telling a deeper story

For Nasrine, photography was no longer enough.
Video offers her a broader narrative space, allowing her subjects to speak for themselves, to tell stories differently, and to immerse the viewer even further.

Video allows you to go further, to give a voice, to tell beautiful stories.”

In her exhibitions, photographs and video installations always interact to create an immersive experience for the audience.

In the professional sphere, she has also observed a growing demand: video is becoming an essential part of corporate communication.

Territories & Influences: the power of Senegal

Senegal occupies a central place in her artistic and personal sensibility.
« “This country inspires everything about me. My roots are there.”

Among her inspirations:
Maurice Béjart, legendary
– choreographer; Germaine Acogny, pioneer of African
– contemporary dance; Sebastião Salgado, Brazilian
– humanist photographer; Peter Lindbergh, master of portraiture and light

Clients & Collaborations: projects that take her far and wide

Nasrine has collaborated with a diverse range of people in Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, the United States and France.
Among her standout experiences: Dakar Fashion Week, a true hub of creativity.

A symbolic anecdote:
one of her photographs travelled all the way to Florida for the Elixir of Life brand. Not only was the work purchased, but it also inspired the creation of their logo — a moment of pride that confirms just how much an image can influence a visual identity.

When it comes to collaborations, she distinguishes between two approaches:
projects she chooses, based on the subjects she wishes to highlight;
and those that choose her, when clients approach her, drawn to her creative vision.

What inspires her today?
« “A person or a company that wants to reveal their true self. My mission is to support them through photography or video.”

Projects & Future: creativity in motion

At the moment, Nasrine is going through a period of inspiration and exploration. She draws on various disciplines, allowing her ideas to mature.

Among her future aspirations: developing a documentary film, a format that has long appealed to her.

As for her future between Africa and Europe, she sees it as a precious balance:

Living and working between the two continents is a real gift. The opportunities are endless, and I feel grateful for them.”
