Cyrille EVEGUE
Self-taught painter, I develop an approach centered on the human condition, enriched by my personal journey, my childhood, and the social realities around me. Influenced by masters such as Diego Velázquez, Caravaggio, and Paul Cézanne, as well as by exchanges with Jean David Nkott, Moustapha Baidi Oumarou, and other artists in my circle, I aspire to question what unites us as human beings.*
*Through figurative compositions blending realism and imagination, I explore themes such as childhood, memory, identity, absence, and resilience. My works highlight human fragility while inviting reflection on our relationship with others and with ourselves.*
*Ultramarine blue, the predominant color in my work, symbolizes for me the dignity and intrinsic value of every individual beyond social, cultural, or identity differences. These individuals are empty shells brought to life, shaped from the same matter and experiencing the same emotions. I depict them in the form of granules to evoke both the vulnerability and the richness of the human experience. My art is meant as an invitation to reconnect with the values of humanity, solidarity, and sharing that form the foundation of our collective existence.

Self-taught painter, I come from the Centre Region of Cameroon.
Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and from a blended family, my life journey has been marked by numerous moves between different foster homes. These experiences have enriched my sensitivity and my view of the world.
Since childhood, drawing has held an essential place in my life. What began as a personal refuge has become a means of expression, a space for rebuilding, and a language that allows me to externalize my feelings of loneliness, emptiness, and the quest for identity, in rhythm with my existence.
Through my painting, I explore themes such as memory, childhood, love, belonging, and resilience. My works are distinguished by the omnipresence of ultramarine blue on my characters, composed of granules. In doing so, I question the fragility of human existence while affirming the inherent dignity of every individual.
My work invites reflection on the bonds that unite human beings beyond social, cultural, or identity differences, in a constant pursuit of a shared humanism.
